The City has issued the first component of the Climate Change Preparedness & Resilience Plan. The first component is a neighborhood scale plan for the Alewife-Fresh Pond area. The plan consists of a summary plan, a handbook, and three technical appendices. The plan can be downloaded from the CCPR project webpage. Look for the documents under the “CCPR” tab. Comments can be made using the CCPR Alewife digital platform or by sending comments to John Bolduc, project manager, at jbolduc@cambridgema.gov or via snail mail to John Bolduc, Community Development Department, 344 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02139. The comment period has been extended to January 31st.

the reservation is a unique natural resource for the community.

Friends of Alewife Reservation works to protect and restore this wild area and the surrounding area for the water quality, native plants, animals and over 90 bird species with paths for walking, running and biking, recreation, and for classroom education and research. We regularly steward and preserve the Reservation area for wildlife and for the enjoyment of present and future generations.
