We want to share some great news with you!
Lawmakers yesterday gave final approval to H.526, a bill to protect shorelands along Vermont’s lakes and ponds. This is great news – because the measure will help safeguard wildlife habitat and clean water for future generations.
A top priority for VNRC over the past two years, the measure now heads to Gov. Shumlin's desk.
It's been a long haul. During 2013, VNRC and our partners and many Vermonters spent countless hours on this bill both in the legislature and during the summer when lawmakers took the idea around the state for public input. This year, the final push was on – and we made it across the finish line with your help!
Congratulations, all. We couldn't have done it alone!
