The Loomers

The Loomers sing songs that feel like a rollicking trip through Americana, infused with the sounds of driving rock, highway blues, heartland folk, urban country, 1950s rock & soul, and retro-1980s pop. Led by singer-songwriter (and Belmont resident) JON SVETKEY -- who has shared the stage with Grammy winner Kristian Bush (Sugarland), Dar Williams, and Martin Sexton, and opened for legendary songwriters such as Richard Thompson, David Mallett and Loudon Wainwright III among others -- the band has released five albums in their 18 years together.

They are two-time winners of Berklee College of Music's Battle of the Executive Bands and have headlined at such esteemed venues as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Fenway Park and The House of Blues. They have also served as the backing band for acclaimed songwriter Ellis Paul and house band for countless sold out Tribute Nights at the legendary Club Passim. Their songs have appeared on CBS, Cinemax, The CW, MTV, NBC, & PBS. And over the past 10 years they have raised tens of thousands of dollars for charities big and small.

The other members of the band include JACK CAVALIER (also a Belmont resident) on bass, EVERETT PENDLETON on electric guitar, MICHAEL CAHILL on drums, TOM SIMONS on electric guitar, and award-winning songwriter ROB LAURENS on keyboards. Special guests joining The Loomers for this show will be HEATHER QUAY and violinist JACKIE DAMSKY.

The Alewife Reservation is a unique natural resource for the communities of Belmont, Arlington and Cambridge and home to hundreds of species, including hawks, coyotes beavers, snapping turtles, wild turkeys and muskrats, the reservation is a unique natural resource for the community.

Friends of Alewife Reservation works to protect and restore this wild area and the surrounding area for the water quality, native plants, animals and over 90 bird species with paths for walking, running and biking, recreation, and for classroom education and research. We regularly steward and preserve the Reservation area for wildlife and for the enjoyment of present and future generations.
