Bird Count Tally for Summer of 2013

This morning I did a complete survey of Alewife Reservation including Blair (which was empty). What I wanted to report is that this week they finally opened the bike trail again from Alewife to Blanchard Road. It was my first time back in this area while they were tearing up the place (so I thought) with heavy equipment and backhoes etc. WELL, quite the opposite- they have greatly improved the wetland, planted incredible amounts of new trees, shrubs and made a beautiful elevated boardwalk along the Alewife Brook. It is still fenced off but it looks like it will become my favorite urban birding spot!!!! Alewife Reservation, Cambridge, Middlesex, US-MA
