Present locally identified potential walking, biking and other routes
to the Lower Mystic River and Tributaries Subject: Meeting on March 5 Last September, MAPC held a workshop at the Mystic Activity Center in Somerville to begin the process of identifying potential walking routes to the Lower Mystic River and its tributaries. Throughout the fall, MAPC met with individual communities to further discuss these potential routes. The result is a map entitled and a summary report. Another exciting development this fall was the completion of the Blueback Herring River Route in Somerville. This route is the prototype for the route system we have been working on. I would like to invite you to a meeting to review the route system embodied in this map. We will view the regional network of potential routes and discuss ways in which communities can move towards implementing these routes. I have attached an agenda for the meeting (PDF file). The regional map, individual community maps and the report and a tool kit are available from the MAPC ftp site at:
I hope to see you on March 5. Please feel free to call if you have any questions and to invite anyone you think might be interested in this project. Joan Blaustein Land Resources Planner
