FEMA Revised flood plain maps. Official Effective date.

City Website Revised maps of FEMA will be effective June 4, 2010 for flood insurance purposes.

REVISED Map 1 - (25017C0418E) Includes a small area in Cambridge bordering with the Town of Belmont and includes portions of the following neighborhoods: Cambridge Highlands and Strawberry Hill.

REVISED Map 2 - (25017C0419E) Includes an area bordering with the Town of Arlington and City of Somerville and includes portions of the following neighborhoods: North Cambridge, Cambridge Highlands, Strawberry Hill, Neighborhood 9 and Neighborhood 10.

There is a map on the city website that includes the entire Alewife section on one map. It is listed under mapping information:

The entire stormwater wetland project is shown within the Revised Map 2 FEMA panel. Once the new “shape file” is inputted into City GIS system, this area will be on a single navigable map.

The display revised FEMA maps above or portions of them will become “effective” for flood insurance purposes on June 4, 2010.

This is the map on the FAR website that we have used.
FAR Fema map (see below) does not include the entire length of the Little River/Alewife Brook – it focuses primarily on the Blair Pond/Perch Pond end in Cambridge and areas in Belmont which include the woodland areas.
