Mother silver maple weakens Mother tree dies to enrich her offspring trees in the sacred silver maple forest. This is a sign of strength and regeneration, not weakness as developer may want to believe Photos by Don Bockler The dead tree trunk will make excellent tree for large habitat etc. Limbs broken off do not necessarily indicate a dying tree, although it may be the case. We are looking for good assessments from professional forester on this. In the mean time, the large trunk will provide much nourishment and habitat to the inhabitants of the forest. Ellen Mass Thanks to Don Bockler, wildlife docent leader, June 25th who photographed the pictures. For more information contact Don at dbockler@comcast.net |
