A) East Entrance and Yates Pond · Existing posting board (maps, literature, rules & regulations, events, etc.) · Defined entrance · Bridge over Alewife Brook Channel · Access considerations (emergency vehicles, handicapped, bicycles, etc.) · Bike rack · Yates Pond (cleanup, access, viewpoint, signs) · Historical markers (clay pits, agricultural, alewife herring, etc.)
B) Meadow Area and Existing ADL Parking Lot* · Educational gathering area (pavilion and/or semicircle of benches) · Maintain and improve existing path along Little River – must move inland from shore (*note above access considerations) · Structured water access point (include handicapped) · Ecological educational signs · Viewing access – platform · Canoe launch
C) Mixed Vegetation from Meadow to Perch Pond · Proposed bridge between Area C and D for circular path return · Birding paths north of Little River · Bird blind & structured viewing areas to view ecologically sensitive species at a distance · Return path along north side of Little River · Considerations dependent on Cambridge Stormwater Management Plan and FAR MEPA filing
D) Perch Pond and Surrounding Wetlands to Little Pond · Wood duck boxes · Structured access for sensitive wildlife viewing (*access considerations) · Hillside bridge restoration · Access trails to Little Pond · Official vernal pool designation · Plant natives / remove invasives
E) Old Orchard / Dumpsite at Hillside Estates · Eliminate / restore dumpsite area
F) Blair Pond · Follow Master Plan
All Areas · Biological assessment for existing species, potential species, and invasive species · Restoration to attract native and desirable species · Historical and ecological signs (maybe granite) · Water quality and improved aquatic habitat · Public safety (lighting, etc.) · Access considerations
