Cambridge population of Andrew's Bottle Gentian (Gentiana andrewsii)
Endangered Species in Massachusetts
added to website October 21, 2011
From Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program:
The 2010 observations from FAR were accepted and have been entered into our database. I've also spoken with our botanist and he has confirmed that the population is mapped in Priority Habitat for the upcoming Atlas, to be released in early 2012, and is currently being regulated. Additionally, the landowner has been notified of the existence of the population on their property. Furthermore, we are updating our Town Lists at this time, also for release in early 2012, and this observation will be updating our records for Cambridge from Historic (1854) to Current (2010) for this species. For additional information on this species please see our Plant Fact Sheets (see link below). For additional distribution information you can also reference our Town Lists (which again are in the process of being updated) (see link below).

In other northern states such as New Hampshire and Vermont, this flower is not rare.
