On Saturday, June 25th, 2005, FAR docents Don Bockler and Daniel Rueters-Ward led the "Partners in Nature" walk through the Alewife Brook Reservation. About 11 participants, including two Arlington High School students, enjoyed an educational tour of the urban wild in sunny, breezy weather.

Safety concerns regarding insects, dehydration, and "unimproved trail" conditions were discussed. However, participants found the trail especially clear and bug free! Bockler and Rueters-Ward answered a variety of questions about the Reservation and Belmont Uplands found therein. The docents also discussed the interconnectedness of the plants, wildlife, and surrounding communities. Participants found the experience both fun and informative and requested that future walks be led in the fall!
